After Leaving the nice Guesthouse in allapey, a tuktuk brought us to the ferryboat. We didnt exactly know where it went or how long it would take, so we baught water. it was like 10am in the morning. someone said it would take 8 hours to the next city, Kollam. After the start (someone put a motorbike on the boat, too) we just sat and watched the never ending green. well, and there were little sand-transporter boats.. they looked as if they'd sink because of to heavy load. just millimeters!!

Also we found MISS LIBERTY INDIA

IMG_2107_s.jpg

As you can see, indian people may think different. this one was the gallon of an island guesthouse, in the middle of the channel. so great, i tell ya, we had to laugh so hard!!! AND if you look closely, THE NOSE! its giantic! lets call it freedom of arts. America, bring it on!

IMG_2075_s.jpg

My plan was to go from kollam to khovallam. A little village, as said in the lonely planet. .. but. Then I met Emma... He had another guide.. and thisone said that i was about to head for the costa del kerala, if you know what i mean. So I skipped the idea and hooked up with the two new friends i made. together we decided to go to Varkalla. still touristy, but not so scary.

So funny people! we has so much joy together. Arriving in varkalla we had excellent dinner. In front of the restaurant one can choose a fish (i tell ya they got BIG ones!!) and they prepare it however you'd like it. mostly tanduri, thats rosted on a stick. spicy.. SEE!

IMG_2218_s.jpg

After having too much beer and party, i stepped into some funny guys.. and me and emma decided to purchase their goods... the result was funny. laughing nonstop again. i cant describe the situation more than this photyo does itself:

I tell you, the beach was a little dirty, but perfect again. the waves just pull you under and break you every bone, if you are not carefull, but i learned how to surf on my own body!
So get ya cloth together and come here, too!
go to bohemean masalla! good crew, perfect ambience, and just a good place in general! its 400 RS per day, that would be 8 Euro..

Well i have to checkout now, pay n stuff. coz i really want to reach the south peak.!!
I keep you informed! .. next tome more! .. you know. its hard to write with full stomach at 38 degrees..
Maybe i get a fresh pineapple juice or a water coconut.. :P

love you all!
Hannes

Secret Beach north of Alleppey

a fisherman's village

sunny 35 °C
View India Scouting on gurkitier's travel map.

We arrived a little late, so the sunset already left the ocean to another happy beach, but what i could see was promising. DSCF2827.jpg

The only reason for our stay at this secret place was a BEGAR LIKE GUY who invited us to johnsons nest. a place that was chosen by my mother from the lonely planet just minutes before he came. well, this place advertised another guesthouse .. the one at the secret beach. of course its not secret. it was a little village full of fisherman. short overview of the time I spent there?

DSCF2858.jpg

THE beach. again!

one little story how to not be stupid in india: Last time I wrote you about goa. you know, that was my fault. because by the time i left the city, and the tuktuk-driver found where i wanted to go, the gesthouse was closed. no one would let us in anymore. so we had to sleep at the beach. on the terrace of the beachhouse, they had, too. sure it was closed. I tell you there are freaky animals living in the sand, that dont like daytime. uargh!! crabs, worms, ants, bugs... i was so happy to have the terrace!!! MAKE SURE: to know where you need to go, before you leave the place ;) AND tell them if you are about to come late!

Next day everything was fine after sunbathing. we made friends with mary and june from england. they tought my mother some english, and I fixed junes camera. (she somehow disabled the flash, so every pic would be blurry) hehe. and we had a little teatime...
DSCF2847.jpg

Hope to see them again!

The gueshouse itself was very quiet, had the best food i ever ate! cabage with coconut... fantastic!
I bought a skirt called lungi. ... took me three days to figure out how that worked.. thats what the men wear there. perfect . air, light.. except if it falls down while you walking. then it has got some embaracing potential.
DSCF2850.jpg

still love you, but no time left now. i have to go to the beach, swimming. I write you later! :) about to head for the south of the subcontinent!!! right now i am sitting in Varkalla: WONDERFULL!! HOW? Read me later!

C YA!!!

Canacona

Palolem Beach

Hi there! I am still alive, and I have to keep up to the blog. Here is a short version:
went from madagon by train, missed trainstation coz the indian ppl were so greteat to chat with, we all had a good laugh about that .. "is the next station the one i have to get off?" I asked after getting very specific local information about the place i wanted to go. "No, one more." he said. The station came, it went by.. and after leaving the last stone of that station off sight (normally you can jump off the train even though it is already going) - "what was the name of the place you want to go?" the indian guy asked again. "Canacona", I said. "Well thats bad... you just missed it." ... we both looked very irritated about this fact, but thats how it goes sometimes. laughed and got off next station.
DSCF2765.jpg.... hours of busride -> DSCF2768.jpg
it was like 15 minutes by train, but the bus that took us from there took over one hour crossing a state border to come to canacona.

The sun began to set by that time so everything was orange coloured. ... when we arrived at the north side of the beach it looked like a waste place. but leaving the forrest, we found one awesome place with huts that i didnt want to leave anymore. like a compound, but hippy style. that night i became friends with the managers, they all were little drunk and we had great fun. i mean it was nearly the first time i got really piss-drunk after arriving in india. .. same thing the day after. well. good times.

Te place itself was beautyfull. There were big rocks to climb from where the sunset got a very yoga-ish meditative nowhere else- touch.
DSCF2791.jpgDSCF2786.jpg
the beach though was full of package tourism like rainbowtravels (!!!!) this is rainbowtours, i think. i hate this.
I wanted to burn down all this western propperty. i mean still just bamboo huts, but there were families, children and fat ugly people that in their life, apperently never have seen a backpack before. i dont like this. i think you have to earn this place. you can not just go somewhere for big money and not even know the people around it. i mean.. how they do thravel by bus, all day, just for work. sth like this. but no. western yuppie hippies. ... the place is not to be blamed. it was beautifull. ... and i had pasta, i confess. spinache and cheesecream sauce.... well, thats where I had dinner:
DSCF2778.jpg

Titus is a guy that works there at "Temple Garden". I think he and all the indian team should earn more money. Titus works like 16 hours a day. great person, good heart and had some good drinks for me. i hope to see you again in the future! Never drank Brandy-Water before. HoneyBee!!!! Gives no Hungover.

Sadly I had to leave during the party for my night train. Again, totally piss drunk and potheaded, i started to yell at my mother .. haha. well i dont even know why. i was just so angry, i couldnt stop. weird situation. i didnt want to leave i guess. some travel illness, that happens if i can not run away from a person. I woke up in the train next to two windows, looking at the amazing landscape. DSCF2823.jpggreen, apes, coconut trees whatever. LOUD MUSIC! GIPSYS!!!! 2 Boys and a girl came with music instruments at 6 in the morning and made happy party next to my bed. i know they wanted my money!!!!! me and mom, now are good again. :) LISTEN!

I am now in an Internet Place in Allappey. I will write you about this tomrrow. ... And add photos. although the camera is broken, coz mommy played with it in the ocean :) 46000 degrees and max humidity.

thanks for your comments! Waldo, i hope to see you again! I looke at the sky tonight!
and all YOU other ones - write me, too, ask me whatever you want to know! I will reply. :)

Love you all!
Hannes

gonna read me soon :)

Ganpatipule

the paradise beach

sunny 20 °C
View India Scouting on gurkitier's travel map.

Hi there, its my guts again ;)

Well, the map doesent find this place, again, so i add photos.
DSCF2595.jpg
this is the place. i am pink now. but at that time it just felt great! The water was warmer than the wind. Arabic ocean. go there, feel great!

How?
the bus that brought us "directly" from mumbai, didn't. he dropped us off at a fuel station 20 km away from ganpati - and another little red bus took us from there with the help of some other passengers that gave their mobile number, in case of need ;)

the beach resort had tents and huts and ghekkos in the hut that shit my clothes in the night. ... but it ate all the insects. the room was so nice with lagoon view. and fishers throwing their hand carried nets (they didnt have a boat).

DSCF2616.jpg
the dogs follow you everywhere, they just want someone to play with them for like 5 minutes a day. they are your little doggy friends. they choose you and are your fellow copanions for the time of your stay. this one liked my shoe. after 5 minutes he learned to catch the shoe and bring it back to me again. next morning he came to say "hi!" and actually gave high 5!! and i had to play with him again, coz he started to play with my shoes again and pushed them to me so i should throw them. great guy! they are a little dirty, but the vet said that they do not give illness to humans (they have some bad dog skin desease, but you should wash your hand after petting though...).

If you want to eat there, just go to the ganesh temple, there is a little market and in it a pink restaurant - its so good!! and after all the sun one fits the enteriour perfectly! Ah jeah, of course the temple! (the girl is my hot mother... every one thinks we are married haha!)
DSCF2621.jpg
there is a orange fat-belly and they say its ganesh. ooooh-k. its so great to go there and have a prayer or meditation and some orange color dots on your forehead given by monks. buy a flower in advance and give it to the ganesh altar. its so amazing! Sure. thousands of people want to make photos with you in the ultimate combinations of all people present at that place. but they are very helpfull and i had much fun!

all given, this is the most peacefull place i have seen by now, welcoming so many people at one time. see you in no time! .. can anyone please tell me what i am going to do in Panaji (capital of goa) now???

aaah the train-travel from ganpati to panaji! they do not have doors in the wagons. you can just jump out or hang around while driveing .. so great!!!

well.. i am getting hungry! c ya!
